GUIDELINES FOR FINAL YEAR PROJECT REPORT WRITING & SUBMISSION

The energy and exergy analysis of Taurus 60 gas turbine of capacity 5.5 MW which is located at Artistic Milliners (unit no.5) will be present in this project. The analysis of every component in the system apart will be tested in accordance with the laws of mass and energy conversion and as well as it will be one of the main goals of this project. Also the mutual interdependencies among the components of the engine and realistic improvement potential depending on operating condition are acquired through the analysis. Moreover , we will identify and quantify the components and the systems which have energy and exergy losses. The aspects under consideration will be the quantitative energy and exergy balance for the entire system and for each component, respectively. At different temperatures, rate of irreversibility of system components, efficiency of exergy and the flaws in obtaining maximum efficiency will be highlighted for each component and for the whole plant. The exergy flow of a material is classified into the groupings of thermal, mechanical and chemical exergy in this study. Design and analysis of thermal systems requires standards for many areas of mechanical engineering like heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mechanical design and manufacturing to be precise. Advanced thermodynamic subjects have analyzed gas turbine power plants as one of the important thermal systems. The project will use first and second laws of thermodynamics for different parts of plant to define their performance and limit the quantities and exergy destruction positions in open gas turbine.
